Sports Funding
The Government has set aside funding each academic year to provide substantial primary school sports funding. The funding – provided jointly by the Departments for Education, Health and Culture, Media and Sport – is to improve the provision of PE and school sport and is allocated directly to primary schools. Schools must spend the funding to improve the quality of the PE and sport activities they offer their pupils, but they are free to choose the best of way using of the money. All schools receive a lump sum of £16,000 plus £10 per pupil.
At St Bartholomew’s, PE and school sport play a very important part in the life of our school. We believe that they contribute to the holistic development of our children and through participation, our children build on and learn more about our key values such as respect, co-operation and kindness for themselves and others.
